Americana Suiteheart is a concept museum exhibition ideated for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Its intention is to offer visitors a look into the extraordinary life and career of Elizabeth Taylor through the lens of her iconic jewelry collection, with a special emphasis on her Bulgari Emerald Suite.

The exhibition relies heavily on imagery of the icon herself, adorned in some of the exhibition’s featured jewels. It is paired with a thin, wide serif font for logos and headlines, and a softer, more classic serif font for subtitles and body text. This pair reminds us of classic Hollywood, and exudes the elegance that a jewelry collection as astounding as Taylor’s deserves. The color palette immerses visitor’s in a sense of Old Hollywood Glamour, using primarily black and white, with the exception of one bold and necessary pop of color: emerald green.

The Exhibition Booklet

My personal favorite promotional asset for this project is the exhibition booklet. This is a thin booklet intended to be offered at the Museum entrance and on stands when walking into the exhibition itself, and it gives visitors a more in-depth look at the story that the exhibition tells. It functions as information for current visitors, and as a beautiful take-home material.
